Fact Or Fiction
CBD oil seems to be the new craze around here lately and I am wondering if this “new” finding is a fact of life or just another way for people to make money. CBD oil stands for cannabidiol and is part of the cannabis plant where we get our marijuana from. Whoever this part of the plant is not intoxicating like THC but is known to have good health capabilities. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940. It is one of 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. In 2018, clinical research on cannabidiol included preliminary studies of anxiety, cognition, movement disorders, and pain. It can be taken in three ways, swallowed, as a topical cream on the skin or infused ( pumped into your body with an IV).
The question that I want to tackle is if this is just a fad or have we discovered something that in the end can have some lifelong healing properties.
I have read many case studies but between me you and the lamppost I don’t really believe half of what I read. So I asked around to see if there have been some people that have taken CBD and what their true results were. To my surprise every person I spoke to that was taking some form of CBD oil stated to me that they have seen remarkable results with the oil. Whether they ingested them, used them as topicals (put on the skin) or infused them (thru IV) it didn’t matter. The results were good and measurable.
But because of my skeptical mind I still did believe them. You know the mind is a powerful tool and we can take a placebo and think we have cured our illnesses. So I decided to try it myself. You see I have this bunion on my foot that is killing me. The question I wanted to answer is, can this CBD oil reduce the pain and give me the ability to walk without feeling pain and without a limp. Well, I can honestly tell you that it worked and pretty darn fast too. I used a skin cream that within less than 10 minutes reduced the pain to the point where I did not even feel even a little pain and it stayed that way for the whole day. Yes over 18 hours! Now I come find out that there is an oil out there called Epidiolex which has been approved by the FDA for epilepsy and it’s major ingredient is CBD.
I am quickly becoming a believer in this stuff. I am really curious on how the US government and can screw this one up (LOL). Just kidding. Have you had any luck with CBD oil in your life?
